On removing a dividing wall between their existing kitchen and dining room, our clients were left with a long narrow room. To fit units down both sides of the room would have left little room for an island – and would also have been a

Despite their rural setting, barn conversions tend to really suit modern kitchens, and this one was no exception. The barn wasn’t huge, so as part of an open plan kitchen/dining/living space, it was important that this design incorporated everything in as compact space as possible.

Our clients were embarking on an extensive renovation of their property, opening up much of the downstairs area to create an open-plan space. They wanted the kitchen to be both modern and practical, so opted for our H-Line true-handleless range in Inkwell, with Farringdon Grey hande rails. A bank of tall units, in Mayfield Oak, houses the ovens, fridge and huge amounts of storage.

The dark blue of the Inkwell doors contrasts beautifully with the suble viening of the Silestone Calacatta Gold worktops. Some open shelving in Mayfield Oak is a lovely finishing touch and ties in with the tall units. All in all, a stunning kitchen!

Solva Lava – Swannington

Solva Lava – Swannington

When our clients James and Clair decided to update their tired oak kitchen, they wanted something that was contemporary, but would stand the test of time. Our Solva range is a wide-framed take on the standard shaker door, and shown here in Lava, looks stunning.

They fell in love with the Silestone Calacatta Gold worktop, which contrasts wonderfully with the Lava doors. The worktop was also used as slab ends on the island to create a striking centrepiece. The worktop was also used to create yet more wow factor by lining the 1810 Axis sink.

When it came to appliances, the Elica NikolaTesla extracting hob was used to enable the placement of the hob in the island. This then meant we could have a bank of larder units, incorporating loads of useful storage, and the appliances – which included the Bosch integrated coffee machine, a feature that James was particularly fond of!

To finish things off, we created a fitted sideboard at the other end of the room to match the furniture of the main kitchen.

Roma Dust Grey – Markfield

Roma Dust Grey – Markfield

When our clients purchased their new home, they knew they wanted to make some changes to the layout to fit their lifestyle. The first job was to remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room, which required structural calculations and building regulations approval – all taken care of by us. Once the supporting steelwork was installed, we created a feature of it over the peninsula to avoid the traditional boxed-in look of supporting beams.

We also installed a new downstairs toilet under the stairs, routing the extractor ducting in a bulkhead over the top of the kitchen units – not only did this enhance the modern look of the kitchen, it also meant the new toilet would comply with building regulations.

Wanting a clean, modern look, our clients opted for our ever-popular Roma silk finish door in Dust Grey, combined with Silestone Blanco Norte quartz worktops.
