Marlborough Dust Grey – Melton Mowbray

We are proud to be supplying kitchens to a prestigious new development at Melton Mowbray, part of which involves the restoration and conversion of the beautiful Wyndham Lodge building into premium apartments.  Dating from the 19th century and steeped in history, it was important that the restoration of the lodge was sympathetic to the original features of the building.  Externally, the original stonework has been painstakingly restored, and the new timber sash windows faithfully replicate the originals. 

Internally, the high ceilings – nearly 11 feet high in some of the new apartments – provided a challenge to us when designing the kitchens, as we wanted to make the most of the ceiling height.  To this end, we used our tallest larder units, with top boxes stacked on top.  We used our wide range of trim and cornice options to provide some nice detailing on a kitchen which we feel beatifully marries the traditional architecture to the requirements of a modern kitchen.  We felt that our Marlborough door – a smooth shaker door in a modern silk finish – was perfect for this, and the ever popular Dust Grey contrasted perfectly with the Silestone Lagoon worktops.
