The eye-opening kitchen features our Shelford door and has pretty much everything. Our clients were undertaking a massive re-modelling of their home in Ruddington, the heart of which revolved around creating a huge open-plan kitchen/living space. The high ceilings and rooflights flooded the space with light, creating the perfect canvas for our Graphite Shelford door.
As is often the case, the design revolves around a large island, formed from almost a complete slab of Silestone Blanco Stellar quartz. This houses the Belfast sink and dishwasher, as well as being able to seat the family comfortably.
Next on the wish-list was a range cooker – a false chimney breast was built, framing the cooker beautifully as well as housing the extractor, and our matching mantle shelf finishes it off nicely. The cooker splashback was made from the same Silestone as the worktops, meaning it is not only stunning but practical too.
Elsewhere in the kitchen, the bank of tall units houses a double larder unit with double drawers in the bottom half, as well as two 70/30 fridge freezers which combine to create the effect of a double french door-style fridge, which works really well. There is also a dresser-type unit to house their coffee machine.
Our clients wanted the kitchen to be as useable as it is gorgeous, so we specified plenty of drawers, our MagnaSpace pull-out units and two bi-fold wall units to make sure that every inch of space is easily accessible. The only problem they will have is finding enough to fill it all!
Obviously this type of space is ideal for entertaining, so tucked away around the corner is the ideal solution – a bespoke bar area, with open shelving, wine cabinets and a sink – we love it!
